# Manage multiple Proxmox hosts from one panel

NexoVirt puts multiple Proxmox VE hosts and clusters into one panel, with one guest list and one dashboard. Adding a host takes one SSH bootstrap: the agent imports your running VMs, containers, storage and networks without reinstalling anything.

## What it does

Every Proxmox host and cluster in one panel, fresh or already running.

- ### Adopt running nodes

A one-time SSH bootstrap installs a small agent, scans the node and imports your existing VMs, containers, storage and networks. Nothing is reinstalled or migrated.
- ### Credentials encrypted at rest

Host passwords and a generated per-host SSH key are encrypted with the app key. The host key is pinned on first contact.
- ### A page per node

Live CPU, RAM and storage gauges, the node's guests, storage and networks, recent activity, reboot and shutdown, and an audited root console.
- ### Agent health in view

The agent is version-pinned. The panel flags any host whose agent is missing, stale or outdated and updates it in one click.
- ### PCIe passthrough

The node page lists PCIe devices with their IOMMU groups. Admins assign a passthrough-ready device to a QEMU guest or detach it again, and both actions are audited.

## Why not just use the Proxmox web UI?

Proxmox VE runs the virtualization. NexoVirt adds the layer around it. Multi-host & onboarding, task by task:

| Task | Proxmox web UI | NexoVirt |
|---|---|---|
| See guests on several standalone hosts | One web UI login per host or cluster | One list across every host |
| Add a node that already runs guests | Join it to a cluster or open its own UI | Paste its URL, click "Set up agent", guests appear |
| Root shell on a node | Shell button in that host's UI | Admin-only, audited console from the node page |

## How to use it

Up and running in 4 steps, all in the panel.

1. Open Hosts and add a host with its Proxmox URL and API credentials.
2. Click "Set up agent": the panel connects over SSH once, installs the agent and waits for its first heartbeat.
3. Your existing guests, storage and networks appear as the agent imports them.
4. Open any node from the dashboard to manage it directly.

## Multi-host & onboarding FAQ

Does adding a host change anything on Proxmox? It installs a small agent as a systemd service and a directory storage called nexovirt-images for OS images. Your guests, storage and network configuration are read, not changed, and the agent can be removed from the Hosts page at any time.

Do my hosts need to be in one Proxmox cluster? No. Standalone hosts and clusters can be mixed. NexoVirt talks to each one through its own API URL and shows all of them in the same lists.
