One-click apps for Proxmox: Nextcloud, WordPress and more in an LXC

NexoVirt installs ready-made apps on Proxmox: pick one, fill in a few settings, and the panel creates a Debian LXC container and installs the app inside it. You follow the install live, the guest page shows how to reach the app, and later you reset its password, change its domain or update it with one click.

What it does

Nextcloud, WordPress, Vaultwarden and 25 more apps in a new container, from one form.

  • A container made for the app

Each install creates a new unprivileged Debian container on the node you pick, never smaller than the app's minimum. Docker apps get the container features Docker needs.

  • Settings in one form

Domain, admin user, email and passwords are typed fields with validation. Passwords go to the install and are never stored in the panel.

  • A live install

The install runs in the background with a step tracker and a streamed log. If it fails, the container is kept and Retry runs the current install script again.

  • Notes on the guest page

After the install, the guest page shows how to reach the app: its address, ports and the settings you chose.

  • Actions later on

Reset a password, change the domain the app answers on, or update it to its next release. Before an update the panel takes a snapshot of the container.

  • Reachable from the internet

On an IPv4 zone behind NexoVirt NAT, one switch creates the port forwards for the app's public ports. Deleting the server removes them again.

  • A signed catalog

The catalog comes from NexoVirt, signed and checked on your panel, every install script verified by its checksum. It syncs daily.

  • Free in every edition

Apps are part of the free Community Edition, from the panel and from the REST API.

Every app in the catalog

Each app installs into its own LXC container. Password reset and updates are available for almost every app, a domain change where the app has one.

One-click apps FAQ

Do apps run in a VM or a container?

In an unprivileged Debian LXC container that NexoVirt creates for each install. Apps that use Docker run Docker inside that container.

What happens when an install fails?

The container is kept and the live page shows the error. Retry runs the current install script again, or you delete the container.

Do one-click apps cost anything?

No. Apps are included in every edition, including the free Community Edition.
