Automatic placement and load balancing for Proxmox
NexoVirt places new guests on the node with the most free memory, CPU and storage, and explains its choice. When a node runs hot, the Balance page spreads the load and suggests which guests to move where, and you start the moves you agree with.
What it does
New guests land where there is room; hot nodes get migration suggestions.
-
Automatic placement
Choose Automatic when you create a guest and the panel picks the node with the most room, with a short explanation.
-
Only nodes that fit
Nodes that are offline, in maintenance, without a healthy agent or without enough memory or storage are left out.
-
Your weights
Set how much free memory, CPU and storage count in Settings, Placement.
-
Balance suggestions
A node above your memory or CPU threshold gets suggestions: which guest, where to, what it frees and how long it takes.
-
You decide
Nothing moves on its own. Tick the suggestions you want and start one balance run.
-
Also in the API
Create a guest with node=auto and the API places it the same way.
How to use it
Up and running in 3 steps, all in the panel.
-
Create a guest and keep Node on Automatic (recommended).
-
Open Balance when a node is busy and review the suggestions.
-
Start the ones you want; they run one after another.
