Proxmox HA and storage replication from one panel

For Proxmox VE clusters, NexoVirt manages the cluster's own high availability and storage replication. You see quorum and every node's HA state at a glance, put a guest under HA from its page, and replicate its disks to another node on a schedule, while Proxmox keeps doing the fencing and restarts.

HA & replication in the NexoVirt panel

What it does

Cluster status, HA guests and ZFS replication jobs, with an agent on every node.

  • Cluster status

Cluster name, quorum, the active HA manager, the Proxmox VE version and every node with its local resource manager state.

  • HA per guest

Requested state, group or rule, max restart and max relocate, set on the guest page. The confirmation lists every value that changes.

  • Groups or rules

HA groups on Proxmox VE 8, node affinity rules on Proxmox VE 9. The panel picks the right model from the version.

  • Storage replication

Replication jobs per guest with target node, schedule and rate limit, plus Run now. The panel checks that every disk is on ZFS first.

  • An agent on every node

Each cluster node gets its own agent: onboarding, updates, health, NAT, firewall and VPN run per node, and the API fails over to another member when one is down.

  • Guarded changes

Changes need quorum and a fresh sign-in proof, and land in the audit log. Safety copies and HA-managed guests are protected from conflicting actions.

Why not just use the Proxmox web UI?

Proxmox VE runs the virtualization. NexoVirt adds the layer around it. HA & replication, task by task:

How to use it

Up and running in 4 steps, all in the panel.

  1. Add the cluster and set up the agent on every node.

  2. Open a node and choose Actions, High availability to see the cluster status.

  3. On a guest page, open High availability, pick the requested state and click Add to HA.

  4. Add a replication job with its target node and schedule.

HA & replication FAQ

Does NexoVirt replace Proxmox HA?

No. HA and replication run inside Proxmox VE. NexoVirt reads and writes their configuration, so the cluster keeps fencing and restarting guests on its own.

Can I use HA on a single Proxmox node?

No. HA and replication need a Proxmox VE cluster. For standalone hosts, assisted failover restores guests from Proxmox Backup Server backups instead.

Why is replication only offered for some guests?

Proxmox storage replication works with ZFS. NexoVirt offers it only when every disk of the guest is on a ZFS pool.
